Flaine is a purpose built resort that has been popular for a long time but in recent years has benefitted from a lot of investment. There are now many accommodation options including some great new developments with fantastic facilities. It sits in a beautiful bowl and some of the best views of Mont Blanc can be found there. As part of the Grand Massif ski area there are 256 km of pistes that include the linked resorts of Les Carroz and Samoens. With a short transfer time and spectacular snow record it is one to consider.

The Ski Area

A perfect spot for beginners with it’s excellent ski schools and beginner slopes. Many holiday makers return year after year having learned in Flaine. For those with a little more experience it is fantastic. The main Flaine bowl provides plenty of goof intermediate pistes and the wide Grand Massif is a blast. Long sweeping runs and plenty of great tree lined skiing. There are a good number of challenging blacks and some great off piste to explore so definitely worth hiring a guide and exploring.

Number of lifts in the Grand Massif: 77
Total km’s of piste: 256 km

Transfer Times

Flaine transfer times (approximate times based on normal road conditions)

Geneva 1 hour 15 minutes

Flaine benefits from one of the shortest transfer times you will find. It is very practical from Geneva and a large proportion of the journey is on excellent motorway. On the busier Saturdays you can expect some delays on the road up to Flaine through Les Carroz.
