If the purpose built ski resort is not what you are looking for, then you’ll be hard pushed to find a more traditional resort than Les Gets. This beautiful little town is almost 900 years old, and retains its authenticity today. The resort has a distinct family feel, and this is reflected in the facilities and activities on offer, which are all geared towards younger guests. With far fewer high rise apartment blocks and far more quaint chalets on display, Les Gets is certainly one of the more beautiful resorts in the area.

Les Gets acts as the gateway to the Portes du Soleil. The journey from Geneva to Les Gets normally takes an hour, although this can be significantly longer on busy weekends. The journey meanders up through the peaceful Vallee Verte, before cutting through a rather impressive gorge that drops you into the village itself.

We offer a shared and a private Geneva Airport transfer to Les Gets, to allow our clients complete flexibility. Our shared Les Gets transfers are popular and cost-effective and with hundreds of passengers travelling every day, we can offer an unbeatable service. As with all destinations in the Portes du Soleil, the transfer from Geneva to Les Gets is relatively quick and easy, making it ideal for short breaks as well.

Other than holidaymakers and the various Les Gets taxi companies, the town attracts a lot of day skiers, especially on the weekend. This can severely increase the volume of traffic on the road, and the journey can take a lot longer during peak changeover weekends. Our experienced operations team will ensure that all traffic and weather conditions are taken into account when planning both legs of your journey and you’ll be in the safe hands of our very capable drivers, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Les Gets

What's on in Les Gets this winter

Family Friendly Skiing

Les Gets marks the entrance to the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski resorts in the world. The town sits furthest to the right of the piste map. The local pistes suit the beginner and intermediate skier, offering mainly easy greens and gentle blues to echo the family feel of the town.

However, for those in the know, Les Gets guards a couple of hidden gems, including the very popular Mont Chery. This stand alone mountain offers a lovely British family-run restaurant, some very wide American-style red runs and, when the conditions are right, some of the best off-piste around. Separated from the rest of the resort by a short walk across town, the mountain is often missed by the masses, making it the perfect escape for those busy weeks.

Christmas in Les Gets

You’d be hard pushed to find somewhere in the world that embraces Christmas quite as much as Les Gets. The town turns into a complete winter wonderland for the festive period. There are plenty of Christmas activities and games on offer, including ice sculpting, reindeer rides, giant board games and snowy treasure hunts. Keep your eyes open for Santa and his helpers!

La Grande Odyssee Huskey Race

In January, the biggest husky sledging race in the world comes to town. The race comprises 10 stages, and spans an incredible 900 km through the French and Swiss Alps. The second stage of the race begins right in the Les Gets town centre, and attracts quite a crowd. This truly unique experience is not to be missed.

Rock The Piste music festival

For the seventh consecutive year, the Portes du Soleil hosts the Rock The Piste festival. 5 major artists perform throughout the resort for a week in March, right on the slopes themselves. Free for spectators, the concerts are easy to find, on foot or on skis – simply follow the music.
